I began creating Chrysalis Portrait's in 2010 after I published my book "Petal's Wish" in 2009. It all started when friends and family saw how I had taken photos of my then 7 year old daughter and transformed her into ' Petal 'the main character of my book . Everyone was amazed at how I had made such wonderful works of art. Before I knew it some of them were even asking me to change their children or even themselves into all sorts of interesting beings. Things just began to snowball and before I knew it I was doing portraits for all kinds of people. Both locally and abroad I was receiving phone calls and e mails from all sorts of people. It then occurred to me that I should go about making Chrysalis Portrait a business. So here I am, a short time later creating portraits for people helping them to express themselves while at the same time following my highest joy. It is wonderful when a client comes to me and asks me to create for them a fantasy, something that they had always imagined yest never could do before. I always look at each Chrysalis Portrait as if it were a snowflake, simply put because I work directly with the people that I am creating the art for, no two are alike. They are not only a reflection of myself but also of the person or people I am working with. It is without a doubt that this is my most favorite thing to do, create art and helping people tho express themselves. ~ ALYSA
